Movie Night: Jurassic Park

A classic science fiction adventure movie that will not disappoint anyone without forgetting that: there’s dinosaurs in it!

Jurassic Park is a 1993 American science fiction action film directed by Steven Spielberg. It is the first installment in the Jurassic Park franchise.

The film is set on the fictional island of Isla Nublar, near Costa Rica. There John Hammond, a wealthy businessman, and a team of genetists have created a wildlife park of de-extinct dinosaurs. When industrial sabotage leads to a catastrophic shutdown of the park’s power facilities and security precautions, a small group of visitors and Hammond’s grandchildren struggle to survive and escape the dangerous island.

Despite turning 28, Jurassic Park is as fun / exciting / sometimes “scary” now as it was years ago when I was still a child.

There are so many scenes that have become iconic that I don’t know where to start. You can find some of them in the images I posted above but don’t stop there. Watch it from start to finish and let yourself be surprised.

In 2018, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

P.S.: how can you miss Jeff Goldblum in one of his sexiest poses?
